5 Questions with… Dustin Bowling

June 25, 2019

Since the very beginning, Tactive has believed that quality, can-do, above & beyond service is the reason our clients choose us over our competitors. And our employees are the best at making sure our clients print & promo projects are top notch. In this employee spotlight series, we take some time to get to know them a little better.

Say, “Hi”, to Dustin Bowling!

Dustin joined Tactive in 2018 as a Large Format Press Operator. Originally hailing from Columbus, Indiana, Dustin is a pro at handling the unique scale and finishing details that separate large format printing from typical print jobs. Let’s get to know Dustin!

1. What are three words that best describe you?

Hard-headed, Loyal, Ambitious

2. What does a typical day at Tactive look like for you?

Luckily beyond making myself coffee and saying whats up to the dog my days aren’t usually very typical. Large Format Produces a wide variety of services and the needs of the client vary from project to project. There’s a lot of hands-on problem solving involved which keeps me on my toes.

3. Before working at Tactive, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

Before I got involved in printing I spent a year as a Case Manager at a homeless shelter in my hometown. I saw a lot and it gave me a lot of perspective on life. Very thankful for the experience but much happier in my current trade.

4. If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be?

Thom deVita

5. What is your favorite thing to do in Indy?

There’s no shortage of good bars and food in Indy and all of my friends are pretty creative in different facets of art so I’m out quite a bit. I value alone time though so in my downtime I’m pretty much glued to a PlayStation controller or trying to catch up on shows before anyone spoils anything for me.

Bonus Question: Share something interesting about you!

I guess I’m involved pretty heavily in the Indy art scene. I play bass in a hardcore band called L.I.B. and do a lot of freelance art direction for local artists in varying formats. I went to school for Media Arts so I’ve handled all kinds of design from album artwork, internet presences, and t-shirts to music videos. I like to stay busy.

Thanks, Dustin! Do you need help with your next print and promo piece? Say, “Hi!” We’re ready to make your next project your best yet.
