Say, “Hi”, to Katie Harrington!

Katie Harrington
Client Success Manager
Katie joined the Tactive Promo Team in 2014. A rockstar at deadlines, Katie handles an incredible volume of customer, vendor, sales, and management requests daily. As if that wasn’t enough, she’s also a talented artist. Let’s get to know Katie!
1. What are three words that best describe you?
Quiet, Compassionate, Easygoing
2. What does a typical day at Tactive look like for you?
First & Foremost, coffee!! Once said cup of coffee is procured, I move on to signing into my email, checking for any urgent correspondence and getting an idea of what the day will entail. Then itʼs time to dig in; looking for great swag items, putting quotes together, communicating with vendors about timelines & printing capabilities, and relaying pertinent information to our clients.
3. Before working at Tactive, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
Narrowing it down to one is kind of hard. I worked in a couple of veterinary clinics as a teenager and young adult. The first clinic I worked in dealt with small and large animals. Some of my experiences there included taking stitches out of a large python snake and assisting with X-raying a horseʼs foot in the field. For one year, I also worked as a cake decorator. Not only was the work a lot of fun and creative, but since old cakes had to be cycled out of the display cases every few days, I generally got to eat cake for breakfast!
4. If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be?
My background is in art and Iʼm going to list one of my artistic idols: Rosa Bonheur. She was an awesome French artist in the 1800s who is also well known for dressing like a man and refusing to conform to female norms.
5. What is your favorite thing to do in Indy?
Indy has a great Parks system and I spend a lot of time walking my dog at various parks. I also love to hang out at the bookstore and checking out art/makers markets.
Bonus Question: Share something interesting about you!
I come from a farming family, but much to my family’s dismay I have been a strict vegetarian for 19 years. I grew up raising dairy goats and have shown several different types of livestock. All kinds of animals I adore and I hope to have a few farm animals as pets someday.
