Prepress Designer
When starting at Tactive, Marty was working in production and bindery before he made his way up to prepress. As one of the prepress designers, he makes sure to set up client projects for production while ensuring there are no final issues before your project goes into production. Let’s get to know Marty!
1. What are three words that best describe you?
Jovial, Esoteric, Creative
2. What does a typical day at Tactive look like for you?
In the prepress department, we ferry all of Tactive’s orders from our CSMs to our production teams. We handle every job to make sure it’s correctly set up and ready for our diverse production methods.
3. Before working at Tactive, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
I was a delivery driver for a florist! I got to drive all over Indianapolis, and I saw a lot of weddings and funerals. You have to become a cautious driver to keep the flowers from tipping over and breaking!
4. If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be?
Napoleon Bonaparte – what an action-packed life!
5. What is your favorite thing to do in Indy?
I love walking around Crown Hill Cemetery! It’s one of the largest civilian cemeteries and a huge green space inside a major city.
Bonus Question: Share something interesting about you!
I have a large garden and donate veggies to neighbors and groups along with my wife, Cambria. We both are classically trained musicians – I was a violinist and she was an opera singer. I used to be able to speak Japanese and Italian, but didn’t keep practicing! I also draw comics and have been published by Legendary Comics.
