Client Project: Antarctica Airport Art Exhibit

The Challenge:

When Michael Durr of Ripple Media Productions approached us with a unique request for his ANTARCTICA airport exhibit, we knew this was no ordinary project. Michael, a professional photographer with a deep passion for visual storytelling, had embarked on a life-changing journey to Antarctica in 2020. This experience, documented through his stunning photography, was to be showcased in an art gallery at the Indianapolis Airport through the support of the Indianapolis Arts Council.

The challenge was to produce three 4ft x 6ft foam-mounted prints that would capture the grandeur and pristine beauty of Antarctica, a place Michael described as both overwhelming and transformative. “Describing this as an opportunity of a lifetime would be an understatement,” Michael shared. “After returning, I committed myself to sharing this incredible part of the world with as many people as possible.”

Michael initially accidentally sent us image files that weren’t the highest resolution, which could have affected the quality of the prints. Our team noticed this and proactively contacted him to ensure we had the best possible files for the highest-quality prints. “Being a professional photographer, image quality means everything,” said Michael. “Tactive went the extra mile to contact me to ensure the highest quality prints.”

The Solution:

At Tactive, we’re committed to exceptional quality and customer satisfaction. We worked closely with Michael to secure high-resolution images so the prints matched Michael’s memories from his trip. The foam mounting ensured durability and a polished look, perfect for the airport’s art gallery.

And to keep the prints picture-perfect from pick-up to presentation, our team took special care in wrapping the photos for Michael’s pick-up. He even had such trust in us that he kept them packaged until installation day at the airport – and when he opened the prints for the first time onsite, there was a collective gasp at how incredible the prints looked in (real) life.

“I absolutely love working with the Tactive team. Any idea or seemingly difficult request I throw at them, they accomplish it with incredible customer service and unparalleled professionalism,” said Michael. “The quality of their tactile materials, execution, and attention to detail is second to none.”

See Michael’s Antartica gallery exhibit at the Indianapolis Airport terminal entrance, now through November.
