Tactive Acquires Progressive Design Apparel, an Indianapolis-Based Screen Printing and Embroidery Company
Indianapolis, In. — January 12, 2022 – Tactive, an Indianapolis-based print, promotional product, and fulfillment expert acquired Progressive Design Apparel (PDA), a local screen printing and embroidery company. The acquisition expands Tactive’s Indianapolis footprint and bolsters its in-house product offerings. Tactive will retain all 15 employees that previously served as PDA’s team.
The acquisition enables Tactive to expand in-house offerings without contracting outside services in addition to expanding their physical presence in the Indianapolis area. PDA made the decision to sell their screen printing and embroidery division in response to an offer that allows them to relocate dancewear brand Sugar and Bruno to Florida and become a brick and mortar establishment amongst coveted Disney properties.
“We are absolutely thrilled at the prospect of opening a store on a Disney property,” stated Challen Powers, Co-Founder and former Co-Owner of PDA. “It has been a dream of ours to relocate and expand one division of our business that we have always considered to be a passion. We will now be able to grow Sugar and Bruno to its fullest potential. It’s a dream come true.”
Acquiring PDA has significant benefits for Tactive customers. Tactive is now able to gain enhanced control over the production process and fulfillment of orders leading to greater efficiency and reduced-order times for businesses. Additionally, PDA customers now gain access to expanded service and product offerings as a single point of contact with Tactive.
“The acquisition came at a wonderful time for both companies,” comments Courtney Bills at Tactive. “We were looking to augment our offerings and make more room for our team to grow and they were looking to seek out their dream. It was a win for all of us.”
Tactive has entered a contract to purchase the existing PDA facility located at 7260 Georgetown Road. The acquisition comes at a key time for Tactive who closed out 2021 with $11.7 million in sales, a 37% increase from 2020. With more growth on the horizon, additional space and expanded capabilities will enable Tactive to better serve their current and future customer base.
PDA owners, Challen and Steve Powers, will relocate to Orlando to pursue their first customer-facing store at Flamingo Crossing, slated to open in the summer of 2022.
